Hi, my name is Ludwig and I’m 34 years old. I’ve been living in Munich since I was born, although I have been traveling quite a bit in my life. I work for a computer software company as a developer, but that’s not really what this website is about. I’ve created this site to raise awareness about some of the environmental problems that the world faces today.
I’ve been interested in marine life for most of my years, ever since we left Germany for a holiday to Egypt when I was just eleven years old. I remember the first time I jumped into the Red Sea, with a diving mask and a snorkel, and marveled at the beauty of the corals and under water creatures I had never seen before. We went back to Germany after our holiday was over, but this experienced had opened a whole new world for me, and the imagery was stuck in my head. As you could probably guess, the snorkeling over here isn’t really what most people dream of and, naturally, I didn’t really have a chance to pursue my new found hobby in the following years.
But as soon as I graduated from University, I took a job over the summer and saved up as much money as I could, and after the summer was over we brought a group of friends together and flew all the way to Thailand. As soon as I got there I took my diving license, and spent the following months traveling around Asia trying to spend to as much time as possible under water. Ever since that day I go as often I can on diving holidays around the world, and apart from my family, it has become the best part of my life.
Having lived this life for such a long time, I’m sure you would have assumed that I would be particularly interested in environmental issues and the well-being of the earth, but to tell you the truth, I never was. It was not that I didn’t care about it, I just never really knew about it. I was raised in a family who wasn’t very interested in the environment. Sure, we recycled because we had to, but that was about it.
